Sculptor Rajamouli misses summer yet again!

Rajamouli is a tough taskmaster and never gets compromised with the end product. He wants to make his films to be on top in every aspect. Hence he is known as 'Amara silpi Jakkanna'! NTR who has done three films with Rajamouli says that he keeps on giving the final touches to the film even after it is completely ready.

For Eega, the sculptor Rajamouli is at work big time as there is no big star in the film to bank upon or back him. Therefore he is making sure of Eega to be hundred percent perfect. Due to this Eega has missed the core summer season already. Eega audio was launched in March and the film is yet to make it to the theaters.

As per the latest news, Eega release has been pushed to last week of June. Chances are high for the film to release in the first half of July. This is not the first time that a Rajamouli's film missed the targeted release date. Most of his films including Magadheera, Vikramarkudu, Simhadri etc were released in either June or July. Despite missing the best season, Rajamouli's film fared well. Imagine what could they have achieved if they were out in summer? Let's hope Eega too scores a big hit for Rajamouli in spite of missing the targeted release date.

Director Fixes Mahesh For Pawan's Script?

All the top directors of Tollywood generally dream about 'one thing' they have to do in their life time. That is nothing but directing Powerstar Pawan Kalyan. Not many get that chance, while others simply change their hero after getting vexed.

Ace director Sreenu Vaitla has publicly announced that he wants to do a movie with Powerstar Pawan Kalyan and declared that the hero is not giving him a chance from long time. However, he is supposed to direct Pawan after this hero finishes his assignment with Puri Jagan. Sources revealed that Vaitla has now roped in Mahesh Babu for that script as Pawan showed less interest. Creative differences have developed between the star hero and star director which have ultimately become Mahesh's gain.

Earlier such stuff used to happen between director Puri and Pawan, which have ultimately led way for Raviteja to become star. Sources confirmed that the script is not 'Dookudu-2', but it is another action-entertainer in the lines of 'Ready'.

Gabbar Singh poised to take Dookudu's place

Well, Pawan Kalyan fans are having a ball with the powerful hit Gabbar Singh amassing huge collections across the globe. The film has beaten all time records of Businessman and Racha and has become the top 3 film (with a worldwide share of Rs. 45 crores) within two weeks. The film's mind boggling run is continuing and as per the trade analysts, the film has every chance to surpass Dookudu all time collections.

If Gabbar Singh can beat Dookudu, then it will be the top 2 film of Telugu film industry next only to Magadheera. However, to do so Gabbar Singh will have to continue its dream run for few more days. It has been easy and cake walk for Gabbar till now as there is no competition from any notable movie.

With Daruvu out in theaters, it will surely grab the attention of entertainment lovers and hence may hamper the run of Gabbar Singh. If the effect of Daruvu isn't big, then Gabbar Singh will certainly beat Dookudu. Let's see if Raviteja puts breaks to the super speed of the Power king Gabbar Singh!

Mahesh Babu's tricky workout at gym!!

Prince Mahesh Babu who scored back to back hits with his recent ventures is currently busy with two projects. One is the multi-starrer 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu', the other would be directed by the psychological thinker Sukumar. And here is an interesting update about Suku's project.

Sources say Mahesh would be seen in a rather muscular physique in the film and for this, he has already imported one American trainer from US to have a special workout. It is heard that this trainer is an expert at building the physique without losing the facial flab.

As such, many who do regular pumping lose out on their cheeks and face shrinks a lot. But Mahesh has reportedly chosen this trainer because he is good at retaining the cheeks but giving a solid body. If all this is true then the prince is surely going to shock one and all with his new avatar.

'Best Jodi of the decade' under pressure!

Gone are the days when a certain pair used to do tons of films together. The combination of a hero and heroine is hardly being repeated in the recent times. But there is one Jodi that has been doing films at a regular basis. Yeah you guessed it right, we are talking about Nagarjuna and Anushka. They have done three films till date as a pair and Anushka did special appearances in a couple of Nag movies.

Despite being regarded as the best onscreen pair of the decade, they failed to deliver big success. In fact Anushka was introduced with Nagarajuna's Super and therefore the actress always shows that gratitude by making herself available for Nag films. Although Super bombed at the box office, they have done Don, which was a moderate success.

Ragada was the last film that Nag and Anushka were seen together. It was an average grosser too. Now the pair is striking back with Dhamarukam, which is touted to be one of the spectacular films with stunning visual effects on Telugu screen. Now the best looking Jodi is under tremendous pressure to score a huge hit, as the budget of Dhamarukam is very high. Dhamarukam will have to end up in the all time top grosser list to get back the investment and make decent profits. If that happens, it will eventually become the biggest hit ever in Nag's glorious career.

Balayya to test his Luck in New Zone

The last few days has been seeing a lot of discussion happening and this was due to the speech given by Nandamuri Balakrishna in Tamil during the function of his movie 'Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathaara'. Balayya also stated that he is willing to take up straight Tamil projects if they are offered.

Now, the big question is, will Balayya click there? Apparently, his body language and his mass image has been quite native to the Telugu masses. Though his dialogue delivery is quite strong onscreen, Balayya has always been heckled for his speeches offscreen which are rather rumbling.

Moreover, the Tamil audience looks for earthy actors and not for those who are glamorous. Though the likes of Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Sarath Kumar are there, it will be interesting to see how Balayya can create his magic among the Tamil Thambis. He would be seen in the Tamil version of 'Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara'.

Hero Raja, who has few good hits to his credit, is under same situation now. After starring in a bunch of happening films, this handsome hero tried his career with some non-commercial movies. Eventually they made people to forget about Raja and he too took the route of an 'evangelist' for some time. Though he tried to comeback with a negative role in 'Mr.Nokia', people rejected both the movie and him.

After some struggle, Raja managed to get a couple of movies again but not big ones. Critics are feeling that this hero should consider a decent exit rather starring in some more stupid films. A dignified exit will make you remain in history like Arvind Swamy.

There is a constant search for fresh faces and beautiful faces in the film industry and anyone with a popular background tends to have a larger preference. Mahesh Babu enjoys working with Legend

Superstar Mahesh Babu announced that the first look of his multi-starrer film 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' with Victory Venkatesh will be released on May 31. This particular date has got a specific importance - It's Mahesh's father Superstar Krishna birthday.

Speaking about his experience with Venky on the sets of SVSC, Mahesh stated that he thoroughly enjoyed working with a Legend like him. He is very confident about the success of the film and also opined that it will be another milestone in his career.

Sources close to the unit say, SVSC would be a trendsetter for multi-starrer films. Director Srikanth Addala ('Kotha Bangaru Lokam' fame) and Producer Dil Raju have worked on the script for several months to make this film an out and out family entertainer. Industry is abuzz that Krishna Vamsi's upcoming movie 'Paisa' is the story of a young politician who rises to top positions with his dubious deeds. Some went on saying that the inspiration behind this movie is YS Jagan and his father late CM YSR. The film maker however clarified that this story is not about Jagan or any other politician in the state, though it deals with politics. 'Paisa' is the story of an young man who enters politics to earn quick money and the aftereffects he has to face.

Not only Jagan, many politicians in the state can be taken as examples for this. Anyways, KV has finally realised his true potential after making a series of dud movies and is focusing his complete energies on this flick. The movie stars energetic hero Nani, sexy Tamil heroine Catherine Tresa and Lucky Sharma in the leads.

Telugu audiences have been treated with a high dose of mass masala entertainers this summer. After a string of biggies in this genre, here comes Raviteja with his trademark mass entertainer Daruvu. Raviteja is badly in need of hit now as his previous films sank without a trace. Is Daruvu up to the expectations? Can it end the miseries of Mass Raja?

What is it about?

Bullet Raja (Raviteja) is a petty criminal who does anything for money. He falls in love with Swetha (Taapsee), who gets engaged to a local don. When Swetha too falls for Bullet Raja, the don turns furious and kills Raja. After the death, Raja goes to Yama lokam and comes to know that Chitragupta's mistake lead to his death. Yama Dharma Raja (Prabhu) promises to send him back to earth. Home minister of Andhra Pradesh Raveendra looks pretty similar to Raja and when he dies Raja comes back to earth and takes up the responsibility as the home minister.

Performances:    

                                                                                                                             
Raviteja's energy is the saving grace for this routine film. He has carried the entire film on his able shoulders. If not for him then Daruvu would have been a torturous film to sit through. There are few scenes in which he goes overboard, but on a whole it is brand Raviteja show. Taapsee looks good but doesn't deliver a convincing performance. She needs to tone up her skills.

Prabhu is Okay as Lord Yama. However, a local actor could have added value to the role and film. Jayasudha is pretty impressive. Brahmandam and MS Narayana sparkles in few scenes. Raghu Babu is loud and so is Sayaji Shinde. There is nothing worth mentioning about rest of the cast.

On the Technical Front:

Vijay Antony's music is pretty bad. None of the songs are impressive despite heavy beats. Background score is pathetic at best. Cinematography by Vetri is neat. Art department should be lauded for the sets in Yama Lokam. CGI and visual effects are not up to the mark. Editing could have been better. Dialogues aren't impressive.

Director Siva fails to narrate the story in an interesting manner. His weak sense of humor doesn't make this a decent entertainer either. As a director Siva scores nil marks for this film.

Analysis:                                                                                   

 First half of the film takes off leisurely with unfunny scenes and only gathers some pace after Bullet Raja gets killed.  Film runs smoothly until interval and this is the best part of the film. Second half starts on an entertaining note and when things seem promising, the pace drops down drastically and the film drags on and on.

Despite loud comedy and mildly entertaining narration, Raviteja factor does help the movie to gain the attention of masses. Daruvu may fare better in B and C centers if they are ready to watch yet another routine film with Yamalokam backdrop.

It is high time for Raviteja to consider different films as he is getting monotonous and his films are turning out to be below average fare. If you are planning to watch Daruvu get yourself prepared for a pretty routine movie and then you might enjoy it a bit better than others.

Verdict: Daruvu is definitely better than Nippu!

Double Action Of Tolly Heroes: A Focus

Latest bandwagon of Tollywood heroes are known for acting in flick by flick till sometime back. Times have changed now, and our heroes are now literally defining the meaning of 24x7 with their 'double action' for parallel projects.

If you look at the top heroes of Tollywood at the moment, their speed in wrapping up projects definitely shocks you. Superstar Mahesh is currently doing both 'Seethamma Vaakitlo..' and Sukumar's movie at the same time. Veteran hero Nagarjuna is shaking leg for Dasarath's 'Love Story' at one hand and finishing Saibaba movie's patch work on other side. Massraja Raviteja completed 'Daruvu' and 'Devudu Chesina Manushulu' simultaneously.

Hunk hero Prabhas is struggling to finish his 'Rebel' with Lawrence, but managed to wrap up the shoot of 'Varadhi' to a most at the same time. Of all these heroes, Megapower Star RamCharan scores an extra point by doing three films at the same time. He is currently rocking with the shoots of 'Zanjeer', 'Yevadu' and Vinayak's movie at the same time. That's all for now about the 'double action' of our heroes!

Balayya to make sequel for Chiru's favorite film

Aditya 369 - A historical, science fiction wonder in Telugu cinema is one of the favorite film of Actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi. Notably, it was the one and only film of Balayya that was being promoted by Chiru.  Saying that it's is one of the best products ever in Tollywood, he appealed to the parents to show this 'Time Machine' flick to their children.

Now, Balakrishna is gearing up to make a sequel to this classic after nearly 21 years.  Sources say, legendary filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao who directed the original will be directing this sequel too. Most probably, maestro Ilayaraja will be roped for the sequel as well.

Balayya played dual role - one as a modern day youth and the other as Sri Krishna Deva Raya. In the original, the lead pair travels from present (1991) to past (Sri Krishna Deva Raya ) and then to future (after the Third World War). It will be interesting to see how the sequel would shape up. The regular shooting of the film will start from August this year.

Tamil Movies' Massive Attack On Tollywood

First half of 2012 was distasteful for Tamil flicks that are getting dubbed in Telugu. While producers have brought some costly flicks at cheaper costs, these dubbed entertainers have failed to woo Telugu audiences.

Equations have changed in Tollywood this year for the Tamil movies that are aimed to give a tough fight to our biggies. Star treats like Snehitudu, Eka Veera and 3, failed at BO miserably without even collecting their investment for dubbing. But some Telugu producers who are eager to beat the original films and earn more bucks than the local cinema are buying Tamil films at higher costs now. The second half of this year is going to witness big budgeted movies of star heroes like Rajnikanth, Kamal Hasan, Surya, Karthi, Ajith and Vikram.

List of movies that are ready to attack Tollywood Sincludes Viswaroopam, Kochaidayan, Maatran, Sakuni. Unlike last year, Tamil movies may not get enough theatres this year due to the overcrowding of Telugu super stars films. We have Mahesh, Ramcharan, NTR, Allu Arjun, Nagarjuna aiming the second half of 2012!

Dil Raju's Struggles With Top Stars

The one touted as the 'midas' of Telugu Cinema Industry is slowly losing his golden touch it appears. Dil Raju is now finding it tough to handle the star heroes of Telugu Industry.

After scoring half a dozen flops before 'Brindavanam', Dil Raju resorted to working with star heroes again. However, all the stars he has chosen are struggling with flops before doing his movie. Say it Jr.NTR or Prabhas, it is the same case. After making a flop flick with Siddharth again, Dil Raju resorted to working with stars. Currently he is having Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan and Allu Arjun acting in his production ventures. However, Dil Raju is finding it difficult to handle the available tight dates of these heroes. Most of his directors are sculpting scenes for days, which are making it difficult for our star heroes to cope up with bulk dates.

Already, Mahesh gave him a warning that he cannot accommodate dates if 'Seethamma...' movie goes beyond schedule. Insiders are saying that same is the case with Ram Charan who is doing 'Yevadu' for him now. They say that Dil Raju should learn making movies in a short time rather running for huge timelines in the name of quality. Watch this space for more updates.

Senior actors cursing Prakash Raj!!

The powerhouse actor Prakash Raj has always been known for his phenomenal performances but on the flip side, the cine folks say he lacks discipline and many instances were reported wherein Prakash reported late to the sets or sometimes was totally absent for an entire day.

However, right now, it is heard that many senior actors in Bollywood are cursing Prakash Raj. And this is for a positive reason. Well, ever since Prakash Raj gave a thumping performance in the films 'Wanted' 'Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap' 'Singham' he has become the hot property for the moviemakers there.

Due to this, many are opting for Prakash and the senior actors like Nana Patekar, Boman Irani and others are getting a raw deal. Recently, Prakash was roped in for another movie titled 'Mumbai Mirror' and he replaced Nana Patekar. Already, Prakash would be seen in the remake of 'Zanjeer' which marks the debut of Ram Charan in Bollywood.

It is a common thing that in India, the film stars are considered the role models for the masses and even the educated lot. So, whatever they do tends to create a certain impact on the society. And when they do something good then it surely creates a positive vibe among everyone.

From the past few days, Ram is extremely busy juggling between the shooting schedules of his upcoming films. Finally, he took a day break to catch up on new movies. Guess which film would be his first choice. Yes, it's Gabbar Singh!

Genelia hopes on reality show !

She is known as the bubbly beauty of the Indian cinema and though she comes across like a prancing girl, she now belongs to a very powerful family. She is none other than Genelia Deshmukh, daughter-in-law of former CM of Maharashtra Vilasrao Deshmukh.

Now, it is heard that Genny is all set to make her presence felt in the small screen circuit and this is happening through a reality show. The show has been titled as 'The Chosen One' and this would have eleven contestants vying for the top spot.

The judges for the show are the bombshell Neha Dhupia and Daggubati Rana. It is after three months that Genny is facing the camera and so far, she has not signed any Telugu project. Let us wait to see what energy she brings in the TV with her reality show.

'Rebel' has been in the news for a long time now regarding delay of shooting and walk out of crew members but this time this is different. Ace Producer of Tollywood, Bellamkonda Suresh has bought the distribution rights of the Prabhas, Tamanna, Deeksha Seth starrer film ‘Rebel’ for the area of Vizag dt., comprising the Srikakulam and Vijayanagaram district also in it for an astounding amount of Rs3.06cr on Non-recoverable Advance basis. Great going Prabhas.

Did Jagan buy the rights of Balayya's film?

Balakrishna's triple role flick 'Adhinayakudu' is finally gearing up for release. An influential politician bought the entire theatrical rights of the film. This came as a big relief for producer ML Kumar Chowdary who is in deep financial crisis. However, the makers aren't revealing the name of the politician. Who is the one having a big heart to invest crores in a flick which has no expectations either from the fans or film lovers. Is it YSR Congress president Jagan? May be, who knows!

Speculations are making rounds since few years about the friendly relationship between the Nandamuri Hero and Yuva Neta. Apart from that, there is a talk that's been making rounds since sometime that it was due to the pressure mounted by Jagan on YSR, the star came out clean in the firing case (Shootout at his house, Bellamkonda's incident). Although they belong to two different political parties, both Jagan and Balayya never criticized each other till date. Even though Jagan claimed on few occasions that he liked Chiru's films, he didn't spare the actor and used every opportunity to attack him. Why Jagan hasn't given this concession for Chiru and Why only for Balayya? Seems like, there is something!

Too many Salmans, No Aamir in Tollywood

Superstardom and experimentation doesn't go hand in hand is what our film industry believes. Right from Bollywood to any wood in India, the thought process and mindset of big stars and their fans are the same. Only exception to it is perfectionist Aamir Khan. His films are different, thought provoking as well as commercial hits.

Aamir didn't earn the superstardom with a film or two. It was a continuous and restless effort and he is reaping the benefits now. Most of the superstars tend to follow the beaten track. For example Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars in India today. He is doing formulaic films and non brainy ones and has been delivering a string of hits.

Almost all the superstars in Tollywood are following Salman Khan in this aspect. They are not willing to experiment like Aamir Khan and slowly build their careers. Everyone here wants instant craze. Therefore we have far too many Salman Khans and not even one Aamir Khan!

Mahesh Babu bets on winning horses

Mahesh Babu is one of the few heroes who blindly believe in directors and do what they say without posing any questions. Mahesh chooses the best and successful directors and leave the rest on them. Right now Mahesh is acting in two films directed by Srikanth Addala (Kotha Bangaru Lokam fame, Producer Dil Raju) and Sukumar.

After taking up the two cases of illegal mining and jagan's assets, CBI Joint Director Lakshmi Narayana became a household name in Andhra Pradesh. So, there is no exaggeration that our makers will immediately use him as a character in their movies.

Acccording to grapevine, there is a key role of a CBI officer in director Krish's upcoming movie 'Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum'. Indeed, the movie revolves around the story of illegal mining mafia. One can now expect how important the role of CBI Joint Director will be, in this movie. In fact this role will have a sure shot inspiration from honest officer Lakshmi Narayana.

Sources are saying that Krish has approached Pawan to do this powerful guest role in his latest flick. Whether Pawan has agreed to do this or not is yet to be known. Provided with the friendship with Daggubati family and their top star Venkatesh, Powerstar might take up this role as he has already disappointed his close friend by not starring in 'Seethamma Vaakitlo..'. Ram Charan grooves for V V Vinayak’s film in Dubai

 

Ram Charan’s upcoming film in V V Vinayak’s direction is currently being shot in Dubai. Sources say that he’s shooting for a song in Dubai and after completing the song, the film unit will head to different locales in Europe to shoot some scenes and also songs. Kajal and Amala Paul are playing lead roles in the film. DVV Danayya is producing this film and Thaman is scoring the music. For the past few weeks, Ram Charan has been juggling between shooting for V V Vinayak’s untitled film, Vamsi Paidipally’s Yevadu and Zanjeer’s remake in Hindi. He’s likely to take a long break in June as he and Upasana are going to tie the knot on June 14.
